I don’t know about you but I am awaiting the next series of the Witcher to hit Netflix. I am sure how I feel about it yet. Excited about its return, sure. Nervous about how good or bad it will be, 100%.
As someone who is still devastated that Henry Cavill has left the series I can’t decide on how to approach the new series. Will Chris Hemsworth be any good as Geralt, the White Wolf? Will he look like him? Will he sound like him? Most importantly will he be able to pull off the classic Geralt grunt? Ungh!
I guess I will just have to wait and see and try to watch it with an open mind, and open ears for that grunt. Hopefully it will be better than the last season which was confusing at best. If it follows the books more closely then there won’t be any times when Ciri and Geralt are together. I hope that it can keep up the suspense and interest without the dynamics of the two of them onscreen at the same time. Also, and this may be tantamount to blasphemy, but I hope it doesn’t follow the book too closely in a way as the book is very haphazard, sprawling and convoluted. I think it loses a lot in translation to English from its native Polish.
Still I am generally looking forward to it and I will watch it no matter how good or bad it is. And on the plus side it means that I can polish off my black leather armour and dress as Geralt again for a good few more Comic Cons!
